Taboo With a Twist is designed for the Cell Biology Topic from GCSE Biology and Combined Science. It is written for the new 9-1 AQA specification (2016).
This resource includes:

I’ve included an optional Taboo word to allow you to extend the difficulty of the game and I’ve also included Picture Hints to support students and add a visual element to the game. These twists allow for easy differentiation and more fun!
I’ve mentioned it in the teacher guidance, but I recommend demonstrating how to play the game by doing an example (or two!) with a student as initially it can be difficult to understand how to play if they’ve never played Taboo before. Once they see an example it becomes very straightforward.
Students love playing this game – it allows them to think creatively while cementing keywords for the Cell Biology topic. My bonus suggestions of other ways to use this game will maximise the learning of your students & make the most of this resource.
